Workshop on Adolescents / Youngsters Behaviour

“Expect people for what they are, instead of making them what they should be”

On 27th June 2019, a workshop on ‘Adolescents’ was organized at St. Cecilia’s Public School. It was conducted by NIE, The Times of India. The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Anju Singh, who had an interactive session with the teachers. They discussed various problems faced by adolescents / youngsters and how we can help them.

  1. Teachers should be sensitive towards slow learners and be more tolerant towards them.
  2. We should not go with a ‘pre-conceived notion’ go with a ‘clean state’ and from bonds with children. Be friendly but don’t become friends.
  3. There should be more interaction in the classroom as these young minds want to express themselves.
  4. We need to become patient listeners, instead of giving instructions.
  5. Common problems faced by children were discussed and how we (teachers) can play a pivotal role in their lives.

The workshop ended on a positive note that we have to work alongwith the parents to bring out the creativity in all the children, so that they can build a better future.
