Aashayein – Annual Day 2014

St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri, celebrated Aashayein – Annual Day 2014 on 10th December with grandeur and show.  The day witnessed the benign presence of Chief Guest Ms. Asha Aggarwal, Arjun Awardee and Assistant Director of Education (Sports), Dr. Rekha Katoch S.P.E, Zone 18 West B, Shri H.K. Pandey Former Education Officer, Chairman Prof. Sewa Singh and Madam Principal Mrs. R. Bhumra.  In her address Chief Guest Ms. Asha Aggarwal congratulated the Cecilian scholars for their merit and confidence.  She also told the gathering to have a strong will for excellence.  She motivated students to excel in every task they undertake approaching each day as a new beginning.  The celebrations saw light with the Prize Distribution Ceremony that soon commenced after the Lighting of Lamp and floral welcome of the guests.  The Prize Distribution Ceremony appraised more than 200 students for their extraordinary achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular fields.

The cultural presentation Aashayein showcased the hope of a better and brighter future of our motherland India.  The presentation revolved around the past, present and better future of India as a land of peace, justice, love, tranquility and brotherhood.

Aashayein unfurled with reverence to God by Ish Vandana dance seeking God’s blessings.  Students of Class I presented a dance enactment ‘God’s Earth’ pledging and promising to keep Earth clean and green.   ‘I Love my India’ presented on stage, the journey of Mother India from slavery to freedom.  Stupendous skating students presented an energetic daring act ‘Hope on Wheel’.  Folk dances from various states set the stage in momentum.  Vannakkam – tamil dance, Dance of happiness – Bihu dance, Rangeelo Garba and Pride of Punjab – Bhangra and Gidda swayed the audience.  A musical presentation ‘Delhi Dreams’ showcased the golden era of happiness followed by the Presentation on Presence of vices over virtues in our society and finally strengthening the foundation of our future values and traditions by sweeping away all evils from our motherland India.  Let’s lead the finale act praised the worthy Indians who have set examples for all others to follow.

The day came to an end with the school campus full of students and parents standing tall singing the national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana………’ with hearts full of pride.
