Monia becomes Mahatma – Mohandas Inspiring Story as a student
On 28.12.2018, the Cecilian campus was enthused to celebrate the much awaited Annual Prize Distribution Function 2018 to felicitate the Cecilian prodigies and showcase the cultural presentation based on the childhood and adolescent of the Father of the Nation – Mahatma Gandhi.
The dignitaries for the auspicious occasion Chief Guest Madam Daljit Kaur, Special Guest Prof. Bir Inder Singh, Worthy Chairman Sir Prof. Sewa Singh, Revered Madam Manager Mrs. R. Bhumra, worthy Director Sir Saroop Singh, Respected Madam Principal Mrs. Inderpreet Kaur and Academic Supervisor Mr. G. P. Sharma graced the occasion with their benign presence. The august gathering of more than 1200 excited Cecilian students and staff members witnessed the exuberant and enlightening Prize Distribution Function along with Cultural Presentation with gleeful pride.
The event started with the ritual of presentation of bouquets as a token of gratitude to the esteemed guests. The Panchdeep was lighted by the dignitaries to seek the holy divine blessings on the bright day chosen to felicitate the Cecilian talent. Head Boy Sidharth and Head Girl Isheta for the current academic session elaborated the achievements of the cecilian fraternity in the Annual Report 2018.
Madam Principal in her motivational address accoladed the numerous achievements of the Cecilian family. Zonal, Inter Zonal, District, State, National as well International accomplishments and prizes bagged by the students received as special congratulations from Madam Principal.
Madam Daljit Kaur blessed the students and expressed her happiness to be a part of the joyous celebrations. The Prize Distribution Ceremony was a huge success as students received Trophies and Certificate for their meritorious CBSE 2018 AISSE and AISSCE Result, Appreciation Awards, Annual Academic Awards, Exemplary Sports Achievement Awards, Scholarships and Excellence Awards. The students definitely were motivated and encouraged to achieve greater heights in the coming year.
The Cultural presentation showcased the turning points in the life of Gandhiji as a child – student – adolescent. The inspirational glimpses into his life inspired students to introspect and follow the principles of Gandhism in their lives. The students showcased their harnessed talents through foot tapping musical presentations. The well planned choreography was commendable and reflected the sheer hard work of students and staff members.
The day came to a memorable close as each and every one took home the philosophy of Gandhism to upheld the school motto: Education for Knowledge, Wisdom, Character and Courage.
