St. Cecilia's Public School

Class I and II experience a Delightful Excursion at Deva Farms on 28th January, 2025

In the company of nature, good food, and friends, a picnic at the farm becomes a memory to cherish forever.

St. Cecilia's Public School organized a delightful and enriching excursion to Deva Farms, Khera Kalan, on 28th January 2025, for the students of Classes 1 and 2. The excursion provided the perfect opportunity for the children to relax, bond with their classmates, and immerse themselves in a day filled with fun, adventure, and learning in the lap of nature. The students were accompanied by teachers and staff ensuring all safety and security measures.

The day began with the lively beats of the Dhol, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead. After enjoying a wholesome breakfast, the children set off to explore the farm. Excited for the adventure ahead, they eagerly participated in various activities that brought them closer to nature.

The nature walk was one of the major highlights, as students wandered through lush greenery, observed various plants, and excitedly plucked and tasted gooseberries. Some collected leaves and tiny flowers eager to take a piece of the farm back home as a memory.

The open fields became a playground for races, tag, and team games. Laughter filled the air as they played tug-of-war and friendly competitions. The adventure zone was another highlight, where students eagerly tried zip-lining, the Burma bridge, trampolines, and zorbing. Many overcame their fears with the support of friends and teachers, making it a truly memorable experience.

Another fascinating experience for the students was their interaction with traditional rural activities. They took turns trying out the atta chakki, watched how the charkha spun threads, and molded soft clay into miniature pots at the pottery station. Their excitement knew no bounds as they got hands-on experience with activities they had only read about in books.

The camel cart and tractor rides were met with gleeful cheers, as children giggled and held on tightly while experiencing the bumpy yet thrilling rides. The magic show added an element of wonder, leaving them in awe as they tried to figure out the magician’s tricks.

As noon approached, the students gathered under the shade of trees to enjoy a sumptuous lunch featuring traditional delicacies. The picnic ended on a high note with a lively dance session, where the students rejoiced in energetic moves, celebrating the joy of the day.

Filled with laughter, exploration, and cherished memories, the day truly reflected Madam Principal’s belief in holistic development through experiential learning. Gleeful students and satisfied parents were grateful to her for providing such an enriching experiences that will stay with the students for a long time.
