Diwali – The Festival of Lights Delights Cecilians
At the onset of festivities, St. Cecilia’s Public school, Vikas Puri celebrated Diwali - the Festival of Lights with fun and festivity from 31-10-13 to 2-11-13. The school campus gleamed with diyas and echoed with peaceful chants. In a special assembly the students were taught the significance of the festival through the medium of dance drama based on the holy scripture ‘Ramayana’.
The festive season is in its full swing and the students are brimming with enthusiasm. Cecilians celebrated Diwali in a distinctively beautiful and vibrant fashion. Students of all classes came wearing rich colorful dresses and participated in several programs which emphasized on ‘No Crackers’ for a ‘Clean, Happy and Green Diwali’. Children made Diwali cards with recycled wedding cards and decorated diyas to mark the festive spirit. The school was decorated with flowers, lanterns, diyas and colorful rangolis.
Various talent based competitions like Master and Miss Teen, Inter-class Dance Competitions, Master and Miss Personality, Comp Whiz Quiz, Cricket Matches and Sports events were also conducted in the school.
It was a time of fun and enjoyment.
