Cecilians pledge to celebrate Eco friendly Green Deepawali

   

   

St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri witnessed a week long glee and celebrations as students of Junior school as well as students of classes I to XII enthusiastically took past in numerous events and activities conducted to mark the celebration of Deepawali from 24th to 28th October 2016.

The Pre-primary wing witnessed hues of colours as children dressed up in vibrant clothes to participate in the enactments of Deepawali through Drama, dance and music. The primary wing(classes  I-V) showcased the story of Lord Rama and his return to kingdom of Ayodhya after fourteen years in exile. The children also shared their joy and happiness with each other as they promised to observe a pollution free Diwali.

Eco club of the school actively campaigned for a pollution free and no crackers Deepawali. Cleanliness Drive undertaken by the students of Class I-XII in the school to mark the beginning of Deepawali celebrations. The students were made aware to celebrate a smoke free and eco friendly Diwali. Classes VI-XII decorated their respective classes and the bulletin boards with decorative material, ribbons, frills etc.. Classes IX-XI also participated in Rangoli making competition exhibited amazing talent as they created forms of peacocks, Ganesha, floral patterns to give shape to the Rangolis.

In a special assemble, the students enjoyed the cultural panorama telling the importance of Deepawali and Bhai Dooj as prominent festivals of Northern India. Madam Principal Mrs. R. Bhumra wished Happy and safe Deepawali to all staff members and students reminding them to celebrate a pollution free and green Diwali.
