Victory of Good Over Evil

On October 17, 2012, St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri organized a multifaceted event for the students to infuse them with the concept of good winning over evil. The whole Ramayan was depicted in abridged form and the dance – drama left the audience spell bound. The mock fight between the armies of Lord Ram and Ravana ended with a scene of victory of good over evil. The students came to the school dressed in different characters of the Ramayana. For the tiny tots, there was a drawing competition in which they had to draw the pictures related to Ram and Ravana. At the end of the celebrations, Madam Principal Mrs. R. Bhumra encouraged the students by quoting the inspirational examples of the victory of goodness over evil from the epic Ramayana.

The students of classes VI – VIII presented a cultural programme of Dandiya dance based on devotional folk songs which was acknowledged with great applause. The children were told about the importance of Navratas. The various presentations encouraged students towards godliness, simple holy lifestyle and thinking.

The senior wing choir made the whole premises resound with the enchanting of ‘Chowpayis’.The speech in Hindi highlighted the significance of Dussehera and the principles of Lord Rama’s life. Another speech in English presented a visual description of “Dussehera celebration”. The show became perfect with the grand finale in the form of a dance performance to the beat of the song ‘Ram ji ki Nikli Sawari’.
