St. Cecilia’s Public School

Better Earth, Better Life, Better Tomorrow
Youth’s initiative in celebrating the Earth Day.

St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikas Puri on April, upheld the motto of Earth Day. A three day programme was organized to celebrate the awareness generation occasion of the Earth Day in the school campus with active participation from the students. More than 2000 students joined hands together to celebrate the event. During the three day programme, competitions like on the spot painting competition, rally-cum-cleanliness drive and one act play competitions in English and Hindi were organized by the Eco Club of the school for Classes I to XII. The theme of the painting competition was ‘Man and Nature’ and ‘Save the Planet Earth’. In The rally-cum-cleanliness drive, the students used banners and placards carrying the message ‘save mother Earth’ and other related slogans during the rally to disseminate the message among the community. The plays were beautifully staged and directed on the theme ‘Jal hi jeevan hai’ and ‘nature and wildlife conversation’.

The students were encouraged to promote environmental education. An effort to instill leadership role among the young enthusiasts to solve environmental concerns was also aimed at by the mentors. The programme also facilitated networking among students, encouraging them for environmental reporting through local media and pave a platform to initiate action oriented environmental improvement facilities.

On the occasion of the Prize Distribution ceremony of the competitions Madam Principal Mrs R Bhumra said that the Earth Day must be used as a powerful catalyst to involve people in making a difference towards a healthy, prosperous and sustainable future. Chairman Prof Sewa Singh gave away special appreciation certificates to the winning students and also appreciated the young activists of Eco Club.
