To Bid Adieu to You
Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart!
On the firstof February 2014, St Cecilia’s Public School, Vikas Puriwitnessed its farewell ceremonyhosted by the teachers and studentsof Class XI. The whole campus gave a glimpse of Rainbow depicting the various costumes of students as different colors. The day started with great excitement and merriment, as all the Class XIIstudents dressed up to their glamorous best and arrived for the ribbon cutting ceremony: the boys looked dashing in their tuxedos and the girls, who never fail to put on a show, were draped in gorgeous saris. The function commenced with the lightingoftheinaugural lamp by Madam Principal Mrs. R Bhumrafollowed by Ganesh Vandana. Outgoing students also conveyed their feelings through songs and speeches.Class XI students organized a set of cultural programmes for the students of Class XII. Through their fantabulous performances, they not only entertained their seniors, but also wished them good luck for their future. Students of Class XI organized a grand and gala show. The Ramp walk was the most fascinating presentation of the day. Mr. and Miss. Cecilia were awarded with their titles and trophies.
Madam Principal Mrs. R Bhumracongratulated the students of Class XII for their achievements and wished them a bright and better future. In her speech Madam Principal stated that these students can excel in every field if they use their knowledge in the right direction.
The students realized the fatal ache of separation and grief washing over them. They felt desperate to hold on to these last few precious moments of togetherness and tears rolled down their cheeks. Finally, Class XI students had to let go of the seniors, after many long years of togetherness, eating together, laughing at silly pranks and crying over bitter fights. The Cecilians had to take heart and wish them all the luck and love in the world to make their fortune outside. There ended a beautiful day marked with both happiness and sorrow. Entire ambience was filled with the sentiments of separation, thrill and enjoyment.
It was an appreciable effort by the teachers and students Of Class XI and they surely succeeded in making the day memorable one for the Class XII students.
May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your window-pane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
With these words, Cecilian fraternity convey its best wishes to the students of class XII for their examination as well as a brighter future.
