Safety and security of the child is of utmost concern for school authorities. Keeping the ideology in mind, St. Cecilia’s Public School conducted a safety from fire mock drill in school campus on 08/04/2013 at 9.30 a.m.
The students of classes I – XII evacuated the school building within 4½minutes. The student volunteers helped peers to reach the ground in an organized regulated manner. Methods to reduce injury and loss were told to the students.
Various tips regarding fire safety were given by teachers and students. Small activities like covering of fire victim with blanket, rolling down on ground as well as First Aid to unconscious students were demonstrated to the students.
Demonstration of miniature real fire and how to extinguish it with the help Fire extinguishers was really appreciated by children as well as Principal Madam Mrs. R. Bhumra and staff members. Complete working of the fire extinguisher was shown and explained to them. It was indeed a learning experience for the children.
