The Food Club of St. Cecilia’s Public School School, Vikaspuri, took up a month long campaign to spread awareness about healthy living and wellness. Young enthusiasts prepared varied dishes with high nutritional values to inculcate in their peer groups healthy eating habits and the importance of nutritional diet. A myriad of delicious salads of Indian and continental origin such as peanut salad, kachumber salad, green salad, pasta salad and many more were prepared by the students. The club members also prepared brown bread club sandwiches, sugar free deserts and fruit sorbets which were served to the guests and teachers. Madam Principal Mrs. R. Bhumra was euphoric at this commendable effort that was materialised with great fervour. In her address she congratulated the club members. She further emphasized that junk and fast food must be totally replaced by healthy food options as those prepared by students. Today, more than 95% of all chronic diseases are caused by food choice, toxic food ingredients, nutritional deficiencies and lack of physical exercise. The month was a delight for all foodies in the cecilian campus.
