Gurudwara Visit

  

  

There was a grand celebration in our school regarding the 550th Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji. Guru Nanak Devji was born on 15th April 1469 in Talvandi, Punjab. He was the founder of Sikkhism, and the first of the ten sikh gurus Guru Nanak devji travelled far and wide teaching people the message of One God who dwells in each individual. Guru Nanak devji’s words are registered in the form of 974 Poetic Hymns in the holy test of Sikhs, the Guru Granth sahib.
As a part if this grand celebration, a visit to the gurudwara located in F-block, Vikaspuri, opposite to our school was organized for the students of class VI-VIII. The students of each section were lined up and taken to the Gurudwara safely, with the help of the teacher. After removing their shoes, they were made to sit in the Gurudwara in proper lines. It was ensured by the teachers that silence is maintained by the students. The pupils recited Shabad Gurbani in a melodious voice, that touched everyone’s heart. A few of them spoke about the life of Guru Nanak DevJi and his teachings.
The Granthi appreciated the students and encouraged them to follow the principles of Guru Nanak devji inspired the people to follow the path of Honesty, Truth. He believed in ‘Equality’ and said that everyone is equal, regardless of caste, gender or religion. After the darshan of GuruGranth Sahib, the students were given the Prasad. Having taken the blessings of Guru Nanak devji. The students returned to the school.
