St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikas Puri celebrated National Education Day on 11th November 2013 to commemorate the anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a great freedom fighter, an eminent educationist and the first Education Minister of India. The school organized various events in connection with ‘National Education Day’ celebration to aware and inspire students with the vision and thinking of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
The Language and Arts Faculty organized a number of literary and cultural events such as lectures, inter-house slogan writing, card making and essay writing competitions as part of celebration on National Education Day. The talent was sieved into titles like Best Orator, Best Speaker, Best Quiz-master, Best Painter and many more.
The Science and Maths Faculty organized an exhibition on the theme ‘Science and Society’. The objective of the exhibit was to develop scientific temper among the society and also to develop enhanced learning of mathematical capabilities in the children. Students from Classes IV to XII fervently participated in the event.
The Sports Faculty organized the Annual Table tennis tournament to mark the onset of the celebrations. Madam Principal Mrs. R Bhumra assured all possible facilities to students in order to promote sports activities in the school. In her inaugural address she appreciated the initiative and urged the students to participate in various kinds of tournaments in a large number.
The teaching staff also initiated to conduct a series of workshops for the parents where they were given a platform to clear their doubts regarding CCE framework, which emphasised on engaging the best in the child through participation in co-scholastic areas. A self assessment questionnaire was given to the participating parents where they were guided on how to fish out the hidden potential in a child with the help of their correct attitude and environmental support.
Chaiman Prof Sewa Singh applauded and congratulated the Cecilian Fraternity for their devotion and dedication to the noble cause of Education.
