70th Independence Day Celebrations
St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri witnessed the vibrant hues of Indian tricolours as the Cecilian family celebrated the 70th Independence Day in the school campus. The School stage was decorated in shades of green and orange to set pace for the special Independence Day assembly on the sunny bright morning of 14th August 2017. Students of Classes I to XII assembly in the school ground to salute the flag hoisting of Indian flag by Respected Madam Principal as the school contingent of council members and club members Payed reverence through March Past.
The cultural panorama unfolded with glimpses of Indian culture and diversity. Jhummar dance from Assam tea plantation, Pyramid yoga formations, patriotic dance congratulating the Indian soldiers, solo Bharatnatyam dance depicting scene of Lord Krishna’s life, skit on social issues like cleanliness, Beti Bachao-Beti Padao were presented with glee by the students. Janmashtami Celebrations were also interwoven in the cultural celebrations. The School Head Boy Sarabjot Singh and Head Girl Harleen Kaur announced the pledge on all promising to make noble contributions in crafting a modern India balanced on peace, integrity, honesty and equality. Teacher speakers Ms. Sheetal and Ms. Shakti also lightened the role of young children in developing the nation.
The patriotic fervor witnessed a high as Madam Principal addressed all present. She talked about the need of present times to create a developed progressive nation. She applauded the noble vision of Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and told the students to be the harbingers of change. The school reverberated with euphoria as Madam Principal along with the students released multitudes of tricoloured balloons to fly free in the blue sky as a symbol gesture of our freedom.
