70th Independence Day Celebration in Cecilian Campus

  

  

  

St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri in a ceremonious assembly marked the culmination of the Independence week on 12th August 2016 to celebrate the 70th Independence Day of Our motherland India. Celebrations of the day started well from 5th August 2016 as more than 2000 students made ‘Rakhis’ for the Indian Army soldiers of unit 14, CORPS stationed in Leh protecting the Indian frontiers. The week from 8th August 2016 onwards witnessed multi furor cultural and patriotic activities. The Arts Department organized Art and Craft activities such as photo frame with ice-cream sticks, umbrella with pastel sheet, masks, peacock making, pet decoration, quilling, bottle art, decorative mirror, Tie and Dye T-shirts and Duppattas focusing on the tri-color of national flag.

On 12th August 2016 in a ceremonial assembly, Madam Principal unfurled the national flag in the presence of all cecilian staff and students. The members of student council and senior wing students marched with pride to salute the glory of the nation. In her address Madam Principal Mrs. R. Bhumra motivated the students to devote their life for the development and progress of the nation. The colorful panoramic cultural performance encompassing the national richness and unity in diversity was a feast for all.

Announcers Tushar of class X and Niharika of Class V threaded the cultural presentations of music choir (seniors) presenting patriotic song and music choir (juniors) singing encouraging melodies. A breathtaking sports performance amalgamating different forms of fitness and self defence such as skating, rope skipping and aerobics was presented by students. Folk dance (Garwali) as well as patriotic dance (Jai ho) were the show stoppers.

A good glimpse of the school campus reflected colors of the national flag – showcasing the love and patriotism of the country.
