The School building was evacuated in a reasonable time of less than four minutes avoiding lethargy and callousness. The student volunteers helped peers to reach the ground in an organized regulated manner. Methods to reduce injury and loss were told to the students. All exit routes were kept clear of obstacles. Assembly points were clearly designated with proper rows earmarked class wise. There was no confusion and chaos. Proper roll call of all students hence gathered was taken. Display signage such as “EXIT”, “ENTER”, “Emergency Exit”, “Assembly Point” were put up at appropriate locations, along with arrow marks for safe and quick evacuation. Small activities like covering of fire victim with blanket, rolling down on ground as well as first aid to unconscious students were demonstrated to the students.

Madam Principal Mrs. R. Bhumra addressed approximately 2200 gathered students. She informed the students about the Do’s and Don’ts in case of fire. She also guided the students regarding the 7use of fire bucket, fire extinguishers, hose reel etc. She also emphasized the need that the students must be taught how to crawl and escape when caught in smoke filled room or corridor. Demonstration of miniature real fire and how to extinguish it with the help of fire extinguishers was really appreciated by children as well as Principal Madam Mrs. R Bhumra and staff members.
