St. Cecilia’s Public School

MOCK DRILL FOR FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY

St Cecilia’s Public School, Vikas Puri conducted a Mock Drill for fire and life safety for all students on 16th February 2015 at 11.00 am in a state of preparedness and to create necessary awareness amongst students as well as staff members.

The school building was evacuated in a reasonable time of less than 3½  minutes avoiding lethargy and callousness.  The student volunteers helped peers to reach the ground in an organized manner.  Methods to reduce injury and loss were told to the students.  All exit routes were kept clear of obstacles. Assembly points were clearly designated with proper rows earmarked class wise.  Hence there was no confusion and chaos.  The students gathered in the school ground in proper lines without creating any noise and panic.  Various   tips regarding fire safety were given by the students on duty to all.  Small activities like covering of fire victim with blanket, rolling down on ground as well as first aid to unconscious students were demonstrated to the students under the supervision of Ms. Ila Johri, Incharge of the Safety Drill.  She informed the students about the Do’s and Don’ts in case of fire.

The students were guided about the use of fire bucket, fire Extinguishers, hose reel etc.  Complete working of the fire extinguisher was shown and explained to students.  It was indeed a learning experience for the students present during the mock drill.
