Orientation Programme for parents of Class IX
“A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe”
On 19th April 2025, parents of class IX students of the new academic session 2025-26 attended the Orientation programme conducted under the mentorship of Madam Principal to apprise and aware the parents about the educational endeavors that their ward will be experiencing in Senior wing. The orientation sessions were customized to ensure time allotment and specific attention to the parents to aware them about the innovative teaching pedagogies implemented in classrooms, digitally advanced and experimental learning through use of latest technology; installation of flat touch panels in the comfort of air conditioned classrooms, academic and co-curricular calendar, examination and assessment schedule, free of cost sports coaching, Inhouse clubs, student council, Interact Club, opportunity to participate in school, inter school, zonal, district, state etc levels, competitions and events along with those announced by CBSE; Govt. of India as well as autonomous bodies.
The programme commenced with warm welcome of the parents by Cecilian student anchors followed by class IX music choir seeking divine blessings. Class IX orators also recited self composed poetry. The parents applauded the exhausted performance of the students.
Coordinator madam, Senior Wing apprised the parents on how the school is a home away from home for their wards. Parents were guided on how to nurture their ward by not only focusing on academics but also chiseling life skills for success as a scholar. The students were also briefed about the rules and regulations of the school. The class teachers in an interactive open house shared an overview of the various subjects and academic activities as a part of Multiple Assessment, Portfolio and Notebook work would be undertaken in the year ahead. The parents were also given an idea of the curriculum which is self directed with hands on learning activities that not only give the cecilian student a medium to fully utilize their creative talents and energies but also facilitate them in their holistic development.
School Counselor addressed the parents as she said emphasis on the importance of mental health and wellness. Various Psychological and teenage related concerns were also discussed by her. The Orientation Programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to mentor their wards. It is also helped in evolving common teaching goals and strategies enabling parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their words.
The Class teachers presented the vote of thanks expressing gratitude on behalf of all to school management. Madam Principal for their able vision and consistent guidance.
