Bridging Home and School- Orientation cum Counselling Programmes for parents of classes Nursery, I & VI

 

To mark the beginning of an exciting new academic journey, St. Cecilia’s Public School organised a sequence of Orientation Programmes for the parents of Nursery, Class1, and Class 6 students in the month of March. The initiative was undertaken under the able guidance of the Madam Principal to ensure a smooth transition for students and build a strong partnership between the school and parents. The session was designed to familiarise the parents with the school’s curriculum, teaching methodologies, assessment patterns, and overall academic and co-curricular expectations, infrastructural facilities and newly introduced flat touch panels for digital teaching.

The Orientations were conducted separately for the parents on different days.

The headmistress of the junior wing and the coordinators of the Primary and Middle wings, extended a warm welcome to the parents, emphasizing the importance of communication between home and school.Moreover, they outlined how mutual support fosters students' overall development.The orientation programmes reinforced the idea that “Education is a shared journey- when parents and teachers walk together, every child finds his/her way to success.”

The sessions offered valuable insights to parents about the school curriculum and provided an overview of the academic structure, various subjects, and the diverse co-curricular activities that enrich the learning experience. They were further introduced to the examination and assessment schedule, school clubs, free of cost sports coaching and educational trips, visits that contribute to the students’ overall growth.

For Class VI, the session included a special segment where third language teachers provided insightful details about the subject, explaining its importance in helping students learn new languages and understand different cultures.

School counsellor emphasized the need of mental wellness and good health. She shared insights on positive parenting and age-specific challenges.She stressed the need to create a supportive and encouraging environment that fosters confidence and well-being. The session concluded with an open house wherein parents  seeked clarifications

The orientation programs laid the foundation of the belief that behind every Cecilian student is a team of parents and teachers who believe in their potential and work together to nurture their dreams. The parents expressed their gratitude to Madam Principal for the opportunity to be an active part of Cecilian fraternity.
