68th Republic Day celebrated gloriously by Cecilians

The 68th Republic Day of India was celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Public School with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervor. The day began with the hoisting of the Indian flag by Madam Principal Mrs. R Bhumra followed by the National Anthem. The school marching troop saluted the Indian Flag in all its might and glory. The students were addressed by Madam Principal in an inspiring speech motivating the students as future nation builders who have to bear the country torch high and mighty. Madam Principal also felicitated and acknowledged National Level winners of Sports on this momentous occasion.

The entire school ground reverberated with the rhythmic beats of patriotic song “Hum Bengali, hum madras, hum Punjabi..” and “Is jahan ke liye, is chaman ke liye”. The enthusiastic school students presented a Rajasthani Folk dance and cultural dances as the tri-coloured flag fluttered in the air. A broad smile could be seen on everyone’s face when the excited students got to perform dressed in tri-coloured dresses to express their love for the motherland. Teacher speaker Ms. Madhu Rai addressed the students with a beautiful patriotic Hindi speech along with Ms. Ekta as she spoke on the relevance of Republic Day.

Believing in the ethos of “one faith, one nation”, the Cecilians celebrated the Republic Day with an amazing rendition by the students. The function witnessed an exemplary close as the students sang the National Anthem with nationalistic fervor and pride
