Teachers Day – A Tribute to all ‘Gurus’

      

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning”.

St. Cecilia’s Public School witnessed Teachers Day Celebrations in the school campus on 5th September 2017. Class XII students came dressed up as student-teachers and took over the charge of classes I-V for the day. The students exhibited a great deal of excitement and enthusiasm while acting as teachers and interacting with children. Primary classrooms were buzzing with plethora of fun activities once the student teachers entered. They played games, sang songs and made the children tap their feet on rhymes and songs. It was a unique experience for class XII to be on the other side of the table and face the challenges.

All the students enjoyed the day. The sound of ‘Happy Teachers Day’ echoed in the corridor and classrooms. After their dispersal, the staff function began with vigour. It was graced by the benign presence of Honourable chairman Sir, Respected Madam Principal, Director sir and Madam Vice Principal. All the Co-ordinators, teachers and staff members were part of the event which marked the significance of the day. It began with the prayer for the gurus. The blissful beginning gave a benign start to the event. It was followed by the teachers reciting poems on the on the importance and contribution of teachers in the development of the country.. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan was fondly remembered as the founder of the day.

Acknowledgement and appreciation are the biggest rewards for hard work and perseverance. Teachers were gratefully appreciated by the school management for their extra-ordinary efforts in the fields of academics as well as co-curricular activities as rewards were conferred on the teachers. Chairman sir in his speech felt proud of the highly qualified and experienced teaching staff which ensures quality teaching and learning in the classrooms. He expressed his expectation that the teachers must continue to maintain the quality and follow their duties sincerely. Madam Principal motivated and encouraged all the teachers to give their best in all possible ways and make progress of the students their utmost priority.

The event came to its culmination with the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries for obliging the teachers with their presence. The staff enjoyed moments of bonding at a buffet lunch organized by the school management as a token of appreciation.
