Visit to American Centre, New Delhi – A Journey into the Future of Space Exploration

To foster scientific curiosity and broaden students’ understanding of emerging career pathways, five students of the Science stream of Class XII, accompanied by a teacher, attended an enriching educational visit to the American Centre, New Delhi, on 15 May 2026, organised by Space India.

The highlight of the programme was an engaging masterclass on India’s ambitious human spaceflight programme, ‘Gaganyaan: India’s First Human Spaceflight Mission’, led by Mr. Vikrant Narang, Chief Technology Officer at Space India. The session offered valuable insights into how the Indian Space Research Organisation is preparing to send Indian astronauts into space, positioning India among the world’s leading spacefaring nations and inspiring the next generation of explorers, scientists, and innovators.

Students gained meaningful exposure to the evolving domains of astronomy, space science, and technology, while also exploring astronomy as a promising career pathway. The programme emphasised the importance of connecting young minds with future goals, innovation, and the rapidly expanding space economy.

The visit became even more engaging through hands-on experiments and interactive activities that enhanced students’ understanding of orbital modules, space missions, and the future possibilities of space technology. The experience proved to be both educational and inspiring, igniting scientific curiosity and expanding students’ perspectives on technological advancement.

The participating students and the teacher in-charge extended a heartfelt gratitude to Respected Madam Principal for providing them with such valuable experiential learning opportunities that nurture scientific temperament, future-readiness, and a spirit of inquiry beyond classroom learning.
