Cecilian Sabha Summit 2026

The Cecilian Sabha Summit 2026 was successfully conducted on 24th and 25th of July 2026 at St. Cecilia’s Public School. The summit marked a shift from Model UN to Youth Parliament, with the aim of giving students a real understanding of Indian democratic processes, parliamentary procedures, and national issues.
The event provided a platform to approximately 140 students from various schools to debate,
deliberate, and draft resolutions on pressing national topics.
Objectives of the Sabha Summit were:
- To promote understanding of the Indian Parliamentary system among the youth
- To develop oratory skills, critical thinking, and leadership among students
- To encourage youth participation in nation-building and policy discussions
- To foster collaboration between students from different schools
The Summit consisted of three committees with diverse agendas: Lok Sabha, All India Political Party Meet and Hindustan Press. These three committees helped the students to debate on the need for educational criteria for elected representatives, while discussing democracy, representation, and governance standards. Delegates represented various political parties and discussed the balance between freedom of expression and responsible speech in today’s digital era. Student journalists covered the proceedings, conducted interviews, drafted press releases, and reported live on the debates and outcomes. The diverse participation ensured rich perspectives and healthy competition.
The event started with the registration of the students at 8:15 am on the first day. After
having breakfast, students proceeded for the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the sapling presentation to mark the gracious presence of Worthy Director Sir, Respected Madam Principal and the Academic Advisors. Madam Principal welcomed all and encouraged the participating members to maintain the code of conduct and engage in meaningful discussions. A vibrant cultural programme included the beautiful invocation of Almighty in the form of Vishnu stuti; followed by the Indian folk dance. Finally, with Director Sir’s valuable approval, the formal opening of the event took place as Ravneet Singh, the Secretary General addressed the audience.
Intense and respectful debates reflected maturity and research by participants in their respective committees. Executive Board Members explained the basic rules of the committee. Emphasis was laid on parliamentary decorum, points of order, and bill discussions.
On the second day, the event culminated with the much awaited Closing Ceremony. It concluded with a soulful band performance that filled the atmosphere with energy followed by the Prize distribution ceremony.
Best Parliamentarian, High Commendations, Special Mentions, Verbal Mentions and the Best Photographer, Journalist and Caricaturists were awarded with cash prize, trophy and certificate. All the participants were felicitated with the participation certificates. The event ended with a valedictory address and vote of thanks.
The Cecilian Sabha Summit 2026 was a grand success. Students gained first-hand experience of how laws are debated and policies are shaped in India. The summit achieved its goal of nurturing informed, confident, and responsible young citizens.
Participants enjoyed the two days where they came to interact with students from multiple schools. They relished the scrumptious breakfast and lunch on both the days and made connections based on meaningful conversations.
The teacher in-charges, the Secretariat and the Organising Committee expressed their wholesome gratitude to Madam Principal for providing them a platform to conduct such an enriching and knowledgeable event.
