Under the aegis of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Directorate General Fire Services, Civil Defence & Home Guards, a Civil Defence Mock Drill was conducted at St. Cecilia’s Public School on 7th May 2025 to apprise and aware students about the effectiveness of air raid warning systems.
The primary objective of the drill was to strengthen the Civil Defence framework and ensure optimum preparedness among students and staff in times of emergency with calm and ease.
Under the able guidance of Madam Principal, staff members and students were briefed thoroughly about the essential safety measures to be undertaken during a blackout and the correct procedures for evacuation.
At precisely 10:30 a.m., the siren was sounded, signaling the commencement of the mock drill. Students of classes 1 to 12 responded swiftly and efficiently by switching off the lights, taking cover under their desks, and protecting their heads with their school bags. The drill lasted ten minutes and was executed successfully, providing students with a realistic experience of emergency protocols.
Madam Principal appreciated the participation of students as highly commendable. They displayed enthusiasm, discipline, and seriousness throughout the exercise. The mock drill proved to be an effective training session, equipping students with the necessary skills to respond calmly and appropriately in times of crisis. All staff members and students were thankful to school management and Madam principal for organizing the Civil Defence Mock Drill. Keeping view the dire necessity of operational efficacy and smooth coordination in times of emergency.
