St. Cecilia's Public School

Class IX Orientation Programme (Session 2026–27)

21.05.2026

St. Cecilia's Public School conducted the Orientation Programme for Class IX (2026-27) to familiarise parents and students with the evolving academic framework and expectations under the latest CBSE guidelines aligned with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023.

The session highlighted key curriculum reforms, including the compulsory three-language policy, introduction of R3 (Third Language) with school-based assessment, competency-based learning, revised assessment patterns, mandatory skill education through Information Technology, and the newly introduced vocational education component, Kaushal Vikas. Parents were informed about the two-level structure in Mathematics and Science, comprising the mandatory Standard Level for all students and the Optional Advanced Level aimed at strengthening higher-order thinking and analytical abilities. Parents were also apprised that students are required to secure a minimum of 33% separately in both theory and internal assessment for successful certification. Further guidelines related to internal assessment practices, subject enrichment activities, academic expectations, and general school norms related to attendance, discipline, punctuality, assignments, and PTMs were discussed.

A dedicated counselling session offered valuable insights into the challenges of contemporary adolescence. Parents were sensitised to the realities of today’s tech-savvy generation, growing up amidst smartphones, social media, academic demands, peer influence, and identity-related concerns. The session underscored adolescence as a phase of neurological and emotional transformation, addressing topics such as academic pressure, emotional regulation, mental well-being, and identity development. Practical strategies to support children in navigating these challenges and fostering balanced growth were also discussed, reinforcing the importance of collaborative parenting during these formative years.

The orientation concluded on a positive note, reinforcing a shared commitment towards nurturing confident, resilient, and future-ready learners.
