A Celebration of Light, Faith and Togetherness – Diwali Celebration Assembly
6 November 2026
The spirit of Diwali illuminated the campus of St. Cecilia’s Public School as students gathered in the school ground for a special celebration assembly on 6 November 2026. Graced by the august presence of Madam Principal, Academic Advisors and Coordinators, the occasion was marked by an atmosphere of festivity, warmth and collective joy. The school buzzed with the excitement of Diwali, as its cheerful energy reverberated in every heart. Dressed impeccably for the occasion, the young performers presented a vibrant cultural programme that beautifully reflected the festival’s rich traditions.
The assembly commenced with a spiritually uplifting Shabad recitation, followed by a soulful and melodious Bhajan clubbing, creating an ambience of devotion and serenity. This was followed by a graceful Bharatanatyam performance on Ram Stuti, which paid a beautiful tribute to Lord Rama. A mesmerising solo Devi dance performance captivated the audience with its elegance and expressions. Thereafter, a series of vibrant cultural dance performances celebrated the much-awaited homecoming of Lord Rama after fourteen years of exile. The infectious energy of the performers, coupled with their radiant smiles and exuberance, filled the gathering with positivity and festive cheer.
Adding to the splendour of the celebration, the primary school students brought the timeless epic of Ramayana to life through an engaging enactment of Ram Leela. With remarkable talent and skill, the young performers recreated significant scenes and characters from the epic, weaving in lively dance sequences that further heightened the audience’s enthusiasm.
The assembly also highlighted the significance of Bandi Chhor Divas, celebrated by the Sikh community on Diwali, commemorating Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji’s message of freedom, compassion and righteousness.
Reinforcing the message of responsible celebrations, students presented thought-provoking posters and rallies advocating an eco-friendly Diwali. The assembly culminated in an energetic grand finale that brought the entire gathering together in the spirit of celebration.
Addressing the gathering, Madam Principal applauded the organising team and performers for their commendable efforts in presenting a splendid display of culture, devotion, positivity and talent. Ma’am encouraged students to refrain from bursting crackers and to celebrate Diwali responsibly, while extending her heartfelt wishes for joy, prosperity and good health to all.
The pre-primary wing, too, celebrated the festival with equal enthusiasm and delight. The little ones charmed everyone with their captivating performances, bringing alive the festive spirit through their innocence and confidence.
With smiling faces and warmth in their hearts, the assembly drew to a close; however, the celebrations continued across the school. Students enthusiastically decorated their classrooms with handcrafted lamps and flowers, transforming the spaces into festive havens. Beautiful rangolis, created with creativity and care, added vibrant splashes of colour to the surroundings.
The celebration served as a beautiful reminder that Diwali is not merely a festival of lights, but also an occasion to nurture faith, spread kindness, celebrate togetherness and illuminate lives with hope and positivity.
