Festivals are the essence of peace, unity and brotherhood – Happy Diwali

Festivities bring joyous smiles, happy and gleeful spirit to cecilian fraternity as students and staff embraces the festive spirit of Deepawali. The vow of a green Eco friendly anti cracker Deepawali was witnessed in the cecilian campus. Special assembly to spread the message of green Diwali was conducted showcasing skits, recitals, dances as well as Anti Cracker Rally in the school ground. Various clubs organized hands on activities to rejuvenate the cultural delight of the students. The Interact club and Art Department carried out creative do-it-yourself activities to uplift the visual treat of the festival of lights – Diwali. Diya decoration, Diya holder making, Lantern making, Bandhanwar making, Rangoli Art, Puja thali decoration – other participative activities brought aesthetic joy to students. Eco club conducted activities to spread the significance and need of an Eco friendly Diwali. The ‘Say No to Crackers – Celebrate Green Diwali Campaign’ witnessed 100% participation from students. Colouring, slogan writing, Poster making, greeting card making, Ganpati making, Painting competition on the theme of Green Diwali were conducted Geekoz IT Club, Commerce Club, Quiz Club, Maths Club and Scientia club came together to live up the festive spirits. Powerpoint presentations on announced themes, Know your facts, Do’s and Don’ts of safe Diwali were conducted to aware and apprise the students.

Madam Principal spoke about the symbolic significance of Diwali that is the triumph of good over evil. She appreciated the Diwali celebrations in school which teach us to embrace unity and secularism. The festivities in school instilled values and secular tolerance in students. The Diwali celebrations enriched understanding of heritage, awareness about environment, significance of peace and brotherhood.
