Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurpurab Celebration
04.11.2025
St. Cecilia’s Public School celebrated the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurpurab with great reverence and devotional fervour. The entire school radiated a serene and sacred atmosphere, reflecting the profound significance of the day. Students from Nursery to Class XII participated whole-heartedly in the celebration, gracefully dressed in white attire complemented by saffron turbans and dupattas, symbolising purity and devotion.
The stage was adorned beautifully, featuring a garlanded portrait of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, enhancing the sanctity of the celebration. The assembly commenced with a spiritual Prabhat Pheri, setting a soulful tone for the programme. Students immersed themselves in the divine ambience, their hearts filled with devotion and purity. The celebration witnessed melodious devotional hymns sung by students of different classes, creating an atmosphere of peace and spiritual joy. As flower petals were showered upon the portrait of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the environment reverberated with sacred energy and bliss.
Madam Principal, in her inspiring address, emphasised the eternal teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji — Kirat Karo (earn an honest living), Naam Japo (meditate on God’s name), and Wand Chhako (share with others). Ma’am narrated a meaningful sakhi, guiding students toward imbibing the Guru’s wisdom and leading a purposeful, compassionate life.
Following the assembly, students returned to their respective classrooms where Kada Prasad was respectfully distributed. Class langar comprising dry chana and puri, lovingly brought by students, was shared amongst all. The langar was served with utmost courtesy and enjoyed by everyone in a spirit of unity, humility, and gratitude.
The day beautifully captured the essence of Gurpurab — devotion, service, and togetherness. The students and staff departed with hearts filled with positivity, spiritual enrichment, and the resolve to walk on the path shown by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
May we all continue to follow the divine teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and strive to build lives filled with peace, love, and righteousness.
