St. Cecilia’s Public School celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and a blend of cultural vibrance. Despite the rain, the spirit of patriotism remained intact, glowing brightly in the hearts of children through the day’s celebrations.
The festivities began on 13th August with the Junior Wing honouring the occasion in their own delightful way. The young Cecilians enthusiastically participated in role play, taking on the inspiring roles of freedom fighters, and showcased their artistic flair through drawing activities where they created beautiful renditions of the Tiranga. These activities not only sparked creativity but also helped the tiny tots connect with the nation’s history in a joyful manner.
The main ceremony commenced on the 14th of August with the National Song sung by the music teacher and the school choir, followed by a heartfelt prayer rendered by the students. The Student Council presented a dignified parade, which was received with applause. Madam Principal then unfurled the National Flag, marking the moment with the singing of the National Anthem by the entire assembly.
In her inspiring address, Madam Principal highlighted the significance of the day and encouraged students to uphold the values of responsibility and service to the nation. This was followed by the Pledge, reaffirming the commitment of the students towards their duties as responsible citizens.
The cultural programme began with a melodious patriotic song presented by the choir group, filling the air with a spirit of devotion to the country. A graceful yoga performance by the students showcased discipline and harmony. A moving speech was delivered by a staff member in Hindi, followed by a captivating dance performance celebrating the joyous festival of Krishna Janmashtami. Finally, an energetic dance performance dedicated to the theme of independence mesmerized all.
The celebration concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride and patriotism. The day truly reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing both national pride and cultural heritage among its students.
