A Visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art

On 7 August 2025, a group of forty eight students of the Painting skill subject, accompanied by three teachers, embarked on an enriching educational trip to the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi. The journey began by bus, with the first halt at the iconic India Gate. Students paid a solemn visit to the War Memorial and paused at the Amar Jawan Jyoti to pay their respects to the brave soldiers of the nation.

The group then proceeded to NGMA, where they were greeted by an extensive and remarkable collection of Indian art. The visit offered a rare opportunity to witness some of the oldest works of eminent artists such as Rabindranath Tagore, Thomas Daniell, and Amrita Sher-Gil. The gallery’s exhibits showcased the evolution of modern Indian art, complemented by displays of modern sculptures and an impressive archive of photographs.

This visit not only broadened the students’ artistic perspective but also deepened their appreciation for the country’s cultural heritage. It was a day of fun-filled learning, exploration, and creative inspiration that left an indelible mark on every participant.
