SCIENTIFIC EXPLORATION AT CSIR–NPL

8 October 2026

Under the able guidance of Madam Principal, thirty students of Class XI (Science stream) of St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri, visited the CSIR–National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), New Delhi, on 8 October 2026 as part of the CSIR Foundation Day Open Day programme. The students were accompanied by two teachers on this enriching educational excursion, which aimed to broaden their scientific understanding and provide them with valuable exposure to the world of research and innovation.

The visit offered students an insightful glimpse into the diverse scientific endeavours undertaken at one of India’s premier research institutions. Through an engaging display of scientific exhibits, sophisticated instruments, working models and audio-visual presentations, they explored a range of research areas, including physics, quantum science, metrology, materials science and electronics. The exhibits introduced them to the practical applications of scientific principles and highlighted the vital role of precision measurement and technological advancement in contemporary research.

The interactive learning experience enabled students to establish meaningful connections between theoretical concepts studied in the classroom and their real-world applications.  The exposure to advanced scientific facilities and research-based learning encouraged them to think critically, ask questions and develop a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape of science and technology.

The visit proved to be an inspiring and intellectually stimulating experience, fostering scientific curiosity and nurturing an appreciation for India’s research capabilities. It encouraged the young learners to explore new possibilities, pursue scientific inquiry and envision a future where knowledge, innovation and discovery contribute to the advancement of society.
