Building Bonds for Better Learning - Orientation Programmes for parents of classes Nursery, I & VI
St. Cecilia’s Public School organised a series of Orientation Sessions for classes Nursery, 1 and 6 in the month of April as students embark on a fresh and exciting educational journey. These sessions provided a wonderful opportunity to warmly welcome parents and students to a new academic phase. The orientation programmes were organised on different days for parents of each class.
The Headmistress of the Junior Wing and the Coordinators of the Primary and Middle Wings, addressed the gathering, extending a warm welcome to parents and emphasising the importance of fostering a strong and consistent partnership between home and school. They highlighted that meaningful communication and shared responsibility between parents and educators play a vital role in ensuring students’ overall development.
The sessions provided parents with a comprehensive insight into the school’s curriculum, academic framework, and subject structure, along with an overview of the diverse co-curricular opportunities that enhance the learning experience. Parents were also briefed about the assessment system, examination schedule, school clubs, free-of-cost sports coaching, educational trips and visits, all of which contribute to the holistic growth of students.
For Class VI, the orientation included a special segment on the newly introduced Kaushal Bodh skill modules in accordance with CBSE guidelines, focusing on the development of practical life skills and experiential learning. Additionally, third language teachers shared detailed information about the language options, highlighting their importance in developing communication skills and fostering cultural awareness.
The school counsellor addressed parents on key aspects of effective parenting, with a focus on encouraging healthy eating habits, reducing screen time, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle for children. She also shared valuable insights on nurturing a positive and supportive home environment that promotes emotional well-being and self-confidence.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, where parents were given the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarifications. This strong partnership between parents and the school serves as a foundation for nurturing the child’s intellectual, emotional, and social growth, thereby contributing significantly to their holistic development.
The programmes were conducted under the visionary leadership of Madam Principal, aiming to facilitate a smooth transition for students while strengthening the bond between parents and the school.
