An Enriching Educational Visit to Radio City 91.1 FM, Okhla

“Where Curiosity Meets Creativity and Learning Goes Beyond the Classroom”

On 15 September 2026, Class X students of St. Cecilia’s Public School had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Radio City 91.1 FM Studio, Okhla Phase III, accompanied by their teacher. The visit was planned as an experiential learning platform to familiarise students with the dynamic world of radio broadcasting, programming, communication and media.

The visit began with an engaging interaction with Mr. Priyawat Mathur, Programming Director, who introduced the students to the fascinating world behind a radio station. The students learnt how radio programmes are conceptualised, planned and executed, and how various technical and creative teams work together to make a programme successful.

Mr. Mathur also discussed the challenges and technical issues that may arise during live radio programmes and explained how professionals handle such situations with presence of mind and teamwork. His tips on communication skills, confidence and clarity of expression were particularly meaningful for the students.

Thereafter, students met RJ Arjun and RJ Ginni. They observed first-hand how an RJ prepares for and conducts a radio show. They also received useful tips related to communication, presentation and the skills required to work in the radio industry.

Throughout the visit, the students participated actively, asked questions and displayed great curiosity. The experience helped them understand that radio involves creativity, preparation, teamwork, technical knowledge, spontaneity and effective communication.

The visit was an opportunity where classroom learning was transformed into real-world experience that left the students with new knowledge, cherished memories and greater confidence in their communication abilities. It encouraged the students to think beyond conventional career pathways.

Students expressed immense gratitude to Madam Principal for facilitating this wonderful opportunity. The school also extended its appreciation to the team at Radio City 91.1 FM for their warm interaction and for providing the students with such an inspiring learning experience.
